Accreditation


 

What is accreditation?

 

Accreditation is the process to certify the requisite competence in the performance of echocardiography and adherence to the Internationally accepted practice standards. However, accreditation should not be mistaken as the license to practice echocardiography.

 

Levels of accreditation

 

  • For Physicians
  • Level 1, 2 and 3 (transthoracic echo)
  • (Only IAE Life members can apply; Associate members can apply for Level 1 only)

 

  • For Sonographers
  • Level 1, 2 and 3 (transthoracic echo)
  • (Only Cardiac Sonographers/Technician Members can apply, Sonographer Level 2 exam is equivalent to Physician level 1 Exam)

 

  • TEE with simulator test- Level 1 (for physicians and sonographers)

 

Conduct of the test

 

The test is conducted once a year during the Annual Conference of IAE. The exact dates, time and venue of the test are communicated to the candidates well in advance.

How to apply?

 

  • Each year, the applications are invited for the accreditation test. Please wait for this announcement for all the details.
  • Send the completed application form along with applicable fee (as mentioned in the application form) to the following address-

    Indian Academy of Echocardiography,

    DSM-141, First Floor, DLF Tower,

    15-Shivaji Marg, Main Najafgarh Road, New Delhi-110015

  • The demand draft for the application fee should be made in the name of “Indian Academy of Echocardiography” payable at Delhi.

  • To appear for the accreditation test, it is mandatory to register for the Echo India meeting.
